I have another Elden Ring/Silmarillion inspiration.
Radagon definitely recalls images of Maedhros for me, personally. In the instance of a classic FromSoft-style Silmarillion game, where you interact with the environment only after the world-shattering events have already long since transpired, I envision a Maedhros boss encounter to have similar imagery to that of Radagon.
At the bottom of a fiery chasm, Maedhros’ body has merged with the Silmaril, shining through the broken façade of his flesh, much like the Golden Order with Radagon. He controls the flames around him, inheriting the title ‘Spirit of Fire’, after that of Fëanor.
Jealously, he guards his father’s creation, the Silmaril, even going so far as to become one with it. And with that, he defies death, and lives on to rend anyone that would seek to claim it, manipulating and wielding both fire and the power bound to him via the Silmaril.
Even with such formidable powers at his disposal, he remains true to his legacy: “…and he lived to wield his sword with left hand more deadly than his right had been.” And his blade, glistening against flame and starlight, instills the frozen fear of death into his contenders.
